Where to park in the Marais?

Parking in the Marais district can be very complicated. There are plenty of transport options to get you there without a car, but if you want to park your vehicle, it's possible. To save time and simplify matters, we recommend booking a space in advance in our Saemes Hôtel de Ville underground car park, which gives you direct access to Paris's emblematic Marais district. On-street parking is still possible, but strict regulations, reserved spaces and relatively high costs make it difficult ...

A car park in the heart of the Marais

The Saemes Hôtel de Ville car park, located under the Hôtel de Ville forecourt (Paris 4th arrondissement), is open 24/7.

  • Large capacity: over 500 spaces on 5 levels.
  • Spaces for motorcycles and bicycles are also available. Whatever your mode of transport, there's a space waiting for you!
  • Charging stations: if you own an electric car, you can recharge your vehicle at one of the electric charging stations during your outing.

Alternatively, we can recommend the Saemes Rivoli Sébastopol car park (Paris 4th), just a 5-minute walk away, which has almost 300 spaces on 6 levels.

Discover the Marais and surrounding area

The Marais, one of Paris' most emblematic districts, is renowned for its unique blend of history, culture and vibrant urban life. Located in the 3rd and 4th arrondissements of Paris, Le Marais is a must-see for visitors in search of charm and authenticity. Here's what you need to know about Le Marais and the surrounding area:

  • History and heritage: the Marais is packed with historic buildings, cobbled streets and picturesque squares. Architectural gems such as the Place des Vosges and the Hôtel de Ville bear witness to the district's rich past.
  • Culture and art: the Marais is home to numerous 17th and 18th century townhouses, now converted into internationally renowned museums (Musée Picasso, Maison de Victor Hugo, Musée Carnavalet...), as well as art galleries and cultural centers.
  • Shopping and gastronomy: the streets of Le Marais are dotted with trendy boutiques, vintage stores and delicious gourmet addresses. The district is also known for its lively cafés.
  • Nightlife: the Marais is renowned for its nightlife, with a multitude of bars, clubs and entertainment venues.

A few tips for visiting the Marais

To get to the Marais district of Paris, several transport options are available:

  • By metro: the nearest metro stations to Le Marais are Pont Marie (Cité Des Arts) and Hôtel de Ville. Both are within walking distance of the district.
  • By bus: bus line 96 also serves the Marais district. This is a practical option for those who prefer public transport.
  • By bike: Paris offers a self-service bike system, which is ideal for exploring the Marais in an environmentally-friendly and practical way. Numerous bike parking points are available in the district.
  • And, of course, the area is accessible by car or motorcycle. However, on-street parking has become very complex. The surrounding streets and avenues offer very few available spaces, and heavy traffic makes finding parking difficult. What's more, parking regulations are strict, and many spaces are reserved for delivery vehicles or local residents. If you're lucky enough to find a space, you'll have to pay €6 for 1 hour, €12 for 2 hours and €24 for 3 hours.

We recommend several nearby public car parks, such as the Saemes Hôtel de Ville car park and the Saemes Rivoli Sébastopol car park (4th).
