Places PMR

Saemes is committed to inclusion and accessibility in order to facilitate access to parking for people with reduced mobility.

72% of disabled people over the age of 18 have a driving licence. It is therefore important to be able to offer them suitable parking solutions.

All our car parks are being upgraded to meet PRM accessibility standards . According to ERP regulations, 2% of the total number of parking spaces must be reserved for people with reduced mobility. However, if the car park has a capacity of more than 500 spaces, the number of spaces is set by municipal decree, but may not be less than 10.

The minimum width of spaces adapted for people with reduced mobility is 3.30 m and their minimum length is 5 m. Our surface lifts, with a capacity of 1,000 kg, can accommodate wheelchair users. Signs and ground markings indicate the spaces reserved for PRMs, and our pedestrian walkways provide easy access to them. These are located close to an entrance, exit, reception hall or lift.

Handrails are systematically installed in our pedestrian entrances (stairwells) and pedometer strips on the steps. A dynamic display of available spaces in our car parks enables customers to check the availability of PRM spaces. Our operating staff, who are on site 24 hours a day in most of our public car parks, are also available to provide assistance to people with disabilities.

Saemes is a partner of the VIP application, co-founded by Philippe Croizon, an extreme handi-swimmer, which offers an intuitive and effective solution for people with reduced mobility looking for suitable parking spaces. Thanks to an exhaustive database and an optimised navigation system, VIP makes it possible to quickly locate free and accessible parking spaces, whether in public car parks, shopping centres or stations.
