How do I get there?
There are several ways to get to the Musée d'Orsay:
- RER C: just a few steps from the museum
- Metro lines 1, 8 and 12
- By car
- By motorcycle
If you can, plan your visit during the week, as it's often much less crowded than at weekends.
And, as usual, we advise you to plan ahead ! Remember to book your museum ticket and your parking space in advance, to make life easier!
Is it possible to park nearby?
To park as close as possible to the Musée d'Orsay, the easiest thing to do would be to park your car or motorcycle in a street close to the museum. However, the museum is located close to the Seine quays, where on-street parking spaces are extremely rare. What's more, in recent years, the number of on-street parking spaces has been greatly reduced to make way for bicycle paths, green spaces... So, if you're lucky and find a free space, you'll have to pay €6 for 1h, €24 for 3h, €75 for 6h.
Secure underground parking lots are the easiest way to park close to the Musée d'Orsay.
Choose a car park
Parking near the Musée d'Orsay? Just an 8-minutes walk (650 m) from the museum, the Saemes Bac Montalembert parking lot is the best solution.
Large capacity: with 417 spaces spread over 6 levels, you'll easily find a place to park, and you can even book your space in advance
Secure, supervised parking: Leaving your vehicle in a secure, 24/7 guarded space during your visit will cost you much less than leaving it on the street: €5 for 1 hour.
Motorcycle parking? Whatever your mode of transport, there's a space waiting for you!
Charging stations: if you own an electric car, you'll be able to recharge your vehicle at one of the electric charging stations during your outing.
Attractive prices: Take advantage of a very attractive price with the 3h package at just €15 for cars and €5,25 for motorcycles.
Alternatively, we can recommend the Louvre Pyramides parking lot, just 1 km from the museum.
Parking tip: if you'd like to pay less for your parking, you can also park in the Champagny car park on rue Casimir Périer, less than 10 minutes walk from the Musée d'Orsay, but please note that the number of spaces is more limited and you'll need to book your space in advance.
